Day  2

Bangkok ( DH)

  • Join up with your guide at Bangkok International Airport and enjoy a transfer to your hotel in Thailand’s vibrant capital, which straddles the Chao Phraya River. Check in at your hotel and use the rest of the day as you wish, perhaps by getting to know this hectic city or relaxing at your 5-star hotel, where dinner is served this evening.

Day  3

Bangkok ( B L)

  • This morning, depart Bangkok for Amphawa, one of the area’s best-known floating markets. Cruise the canals past boats and waterside stalls peddling exotic foods, flowers and household goods, and stock up with souvenirs. Afterward, return to Bangkok, and savor a traditional Thai lunch at a popular restaurant. This afternoon brings a guided tour of the Grand Palace, home to Siam’s kings for more than 150 years. Admire the gold-coated shrines and pavilions, and visit the adjacent Temple of the Emerald Buddha, home to a revered emerald statue of Buddha

  • Amphawa Floating Market Morning Tour

    Delve into Amphawa, an authentic floating market near Bangkok hugely popular with locals. This teeming canalside market brims with traditional boats and wooden shop-houses selling fresh produce, grilled seafood, sweets and souvenirs.

    Grand Palace Tour

    Enjoy a walking tour of Bangkok’s Grand Palace, once the heart of royal Siam. Admire the pavilions and courtyards, discover their history, and visit the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, Thailand’s holiest shrine.

Day  4

Bangkok - Ayutthaya - Bangkok ( B L)

  • Today, venture north to Ayutthaya, where the relics of the ancient Siamese capital cover an extensive archaeological site. Walk around the broken monuments, and learn how Ayutthaya was the kingdom’s base up to 1767. On route to Ayutthaya, visit the Bang Pa In Summer Palace: a garden retreat dotted with decorative pavilions and ornamental ponds used by Siam’s royals during the 1800s. Later, board a sleek Grand Pearl river ship, and cruise back to Bangkok along the Chao Phraya, passing lush countryside and temples, and enjoying a delicious on-board buffet lunch.
Day  5

Bangkok - Chiang Mai ( B DH)

  • After breakfast, transfer to Bangkok airport and fly to Chiang Mai, your base for three nights. Thailand’s charming northern capital nestles in jungle-clad hills and combines a relaxed atmosphere with gardens and temples. Transfer and check in at your hotel, and spend the remainder of the day easing into the slower pace. Dinner is at your hotel this evening.

Chiang Mai ( B L)

  • This morning, journey into the densely forested hills around Chiang Mai to visit an elephant sanctuary. Get up-close to these gentle giants and then continue to a village of the LongNecked Karen hill tribe, the largest hill tribe in Thailand. Discover the rich culture of this ancient community. This evening is yours at leisure in Chiang Mai.
  • Hill Villages of Long-Necked Karen Tribes Tour

    Journey from Chiang Mai to a hill village of the Karen tribe. Meet some of the Karen women, who famously wear high-stacked brass rings around their necks. Discover the village and the Karen’s customs, and shop for their patterned hand-woven garments.

Day  7

Chiang Mai ( B L)

  • Start today with a visit to the Doi Suthep Temple, a gold-covered shrine on Doi Suthep Mountain. Ascend the stairway to this elaborate temple, one of northern Thailand’s most sacred, and home to a relic of Buddha. Later, watch some of Thailand’s traditional artifacts being made at a variety of craft workshops. Visit the silk- and cotton-making factories of Sankhempeng, see craft demonstrations at the Thai Handicrafts Village, and stop at Bor Sand to view artisans hand-crafting paper and painted umbrellas.
  • Doi Suthep Temple Tour

    Tour the Doi Suthep mountain temple, perched above Chiang Mai. Climb the snake-lined stairs to wonder at the gold pagoda, Buddha statues, and bells of the exquisite 14 th -century complex.

Day  8

Chiang Mai - Koh Samui ( B DH)

  • Today, fly to Koh Samui, an idyllic island in the Gulf of Thailand famed for its tropical greenery, talcumwhite sands and mountainous rainforests. Meet your guide on arrival, and transfer to your beachside hotel for dinner and relaxation this evening.

Day  9

Koh Samui ( B L)

  • Today, get acquainted with Koh Samui on a morning tour. View the golden Big Buddha and quirky coastal ‘Grandfather and Grandmother’ Rocks, and call at beauty spots including Nathon port, the Namuang Waterfall and Lad Koh. Enjoy the afternoon to yourself, perhaps lazing on the white sands and swimming in the inviting seas at your plush hotel.
  • Koh Samui Half-Day Tour

    See beyond Koh Samui’s beaches on a half-day island tour. Shop at the colorful capital of Nathon, admire an ancient Buddha temple, and visit a spectacular viewpoint and other beauty spots.
